I am a Laredo native-born and raised. I graduated from local Nixon High School and then The University of Texas at Austin (B.A. in Government and Business Administration). I then attended The University of Houston for my Master’s Degree program. I subsequently entered the nationally recognized South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas.
Started my career working for a Laredo-based Insurance Defense firm (Lopez Peterson). There, I received extensive experience with car accident defense, assessing cases for the insurance companies and preparing cases for litigation and trial.
Then I went to the Webb County District Attorney’s Office where I went from prosecuting run-of-the-mill misdemeanors to later being in charge of the Domestic Violence Unit. I was then promoted to Chief of the Narcotics Prosecution Unit. There I handled felony drug cases. I was also in charge of the civil asset forfeiture division – an experience that prepared me to handle asset forfeiture defense cases that have yielded MILLIONS of dollars in recovered monies for my clients.
In 2005, I opened The Law Office of Silverio Martinez, P.C., and have been defending clients all over the State of Texas and other states. My expertise is in criminal defense and personal injury. I have tried NUMEROUS cases to jury verdict and am well versed in trial law. I am not afraid to take cases to trial when necessary to get my clients their desired results.
